Purpose of this Role

Our Sorted Chale Travel Buddies are the energetic wing  and knowledge base of our business: Reps ensure that the itinerary provided to guests are being followed accordingly and that guests are having the time of their lives!  You're also trained to have extensive knowledge on Ghana so that you can act as a tour guide on trips for our chales!

 

The Travel Buddy role is most ideal for anyone who loves meeting new people, enjoys exploring new locations and loves the challenge of leadership! This role is exciting and ever changing, today you could be exploring Capecoast castle and tomorrow you could be kayaking in Keta! Please note that this role is a freelance role and reps will be paid on a shift by shift basis.

Your Responsibilities

  • A hub of knowledge for all things related to travel in Ghana and is expected to act as a tour guide on our trip (we will provide training, no shaking!)

  • Is the energy wing that hosts our Chales on their trips to different locations to ensure that they are having fun, learning and are safe in the areas they find themselves in.

  • Responsible for making payments at the different locations we take our guest 

  • Is required to observe punctuality at all times during our trips

  • Takes initiative and has a keen awareness for contingency planning when the need arises

  • Focusses strategically on content and utilises experiences with our Chales to create content that can drive more interest to the Sorted Chale Family.

  • Assemble and check required supplies and equipment before departing for tour

  • Monitor visitors’ activities in order to ensure compliance with establishment or tour regulations and safety practices

  • May have to either plan and/or conduct itineraries and activities

Essentials

  • Safety training required

  • Extensive knowledge of local history, buildings, artifacts, and amenities

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Creative methods of communication

  • Ability to do thorough research

  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Excellent time management skills

  • Good conflict resolution

  • Good customer service skills

  • Tour guide certification is a BIG ASSET
